Join Seth Riskin, light artist, MIT Museum Studio Manager, for a small group, guided tour of CAVS50 at the MIT Museum. Art meets science in this stirring exhibition, showcasing work from The Center for Advanced Visual Studies (CAVS), celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
CAVS was a bold experiment that brought artists to MIT to work collaboratively with scientists and engineers, blurring traditional boundaries. Hear about the program’s origin and evolution from a former CAVS student, while viewing avant-garde works including holograms, light art,and a giant inflatable sculpture by acclaimed artist Otto Piene.
The tour is free, limited to 15 people, with pre-registration required, and is offered exclusively to ArtWeek participants.
